Frequently Asked Questions
In this section you will find the most commonly asked questions relating to Home Group e-petitions and the relevant answers. If you cannot find the anwser to your question here - then email contactus@homegroup.org.uk
Do I need to be a customer or client Home Group to participate?
Yes. In order for your signature to be accepted or e-petition to be created you must be a customer or client of Home Group. This ensures that we only act upon the genuine thoughts and opinions of our customers & clients.
How do you know if I am a customer or client of Home Group?
When you enter your details you are asked for your name and address. This information is then cross matched to our database every week to determine its validity. If the data we receive does not match what is currently stored in our database your vote / petition will be removed.
How many signatures are needed for the petition to be taken to the board?
In order for a petition to be taken to the board for consideration a minimum of 200 signatures is required within 90 days of it going live.
The person that created the petition will then be offered the opportunity to come to the next board meeting and bring the issue to the boards attention. If they are unable to attend, then the petition will be raised on their behalf.
How can I find the results of a petition?
If you wish to find out the results of a petition and it is within 60 days of the closing date, then you can obtain this information from the 'epetition archive'. For results of older petitions please contact our customer service centre at contactus@homegroup.org.uk.
Why haven't I received an email asking me to validate my email address?
Dependant on your email setting, sometimes our emails may end up in your junk folder as your email provider accidently thinks our emails are SPAM. You should first check your junk folder.
It is also possible during times when the e-petitions site is really busy, that the email may take up to 4 hours to be sent.
Which browsers can use the e-petitions site?
We have designed the use of this e-petitions site for the majority of web browsers and tablet devices.
Where full compatibility is not available a graceful degradation of the site design is presented to the user.
